新型コロナウイルス感染症(COVID-19)は重症化すると入院が必要になったり、さまざまな後遺症が残ったり、時には死亡したりする危険な病気ですが、製薬会社が開発したワクチンを接種することで発症率や重症化率を軽減させることが可能です。ところが、記事作成時点でも多くの人々が自分の意思でワクチンの接種を拒否していることが問題視されています。そんな中、ワクチン接種を完了した人の割合が人口の60％程度にとどまっているアメリカでは、「ワクチン未接種の人がCOVID-19を発症して治療を受けた場合、医療費を全額負担させる」という法案が提出されました。
