He also stated that the Ukrainian military had been periodically in this area since the liberation of Kherson. Official comments also appeared.
Ukraine has not confirmed the existence of a bridgehead in fact.
"I want everyone to understand: when the front line runs along such a wide powerful river as the Dnieper, it is a very difficult job to overcome such an obstacle. That is why even the best students of the Institute for the Study of War have to be patient here," said Natalia Gumenyuk, spokeswoman for the Southern Defence Force.
She added that the AFU operations require information silence until it is safe enough for the Ukrainian military.
The Russian-appointed "proxy governor" of Kherson Region, Volodymyr Saldo, claims that the Russians have full control over the left-bank part of Kherson Region. He called the reports on the establishment of a bridgehead an "information war" on the part of Ukraine.
